<div itemprop="description">BUYS, JACOBUS PETRUS<br><br>Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice on Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 in his 92nd year. <br><br>Jacobus (Jake) fought a courageous battle with cancer, dying how he lived - with dignity, strength and honour.<br><br>Predeceased by his brothers, Johannes Buys and his wife Mechelina Buys - van Buul, a dear sister-in-law to Jake; Adrianus Buys and his wife Betsy Buys - van Drunen and Theo Buys. Survived by his sister-in-law Tiny Buys - van Hal in Holland. A loving uncle and a second father to Tom and Mary Buys, and Elly and Tim Jentz. Honorary Opa to John, Laura, twins Peter and Carol Buys and Emelien, Mark and Benjamin Jentz. Survived and remembered by several nieces and nephews and their families in Holland. Jake will be greatly missed and remain in our hearts forever. Jake, along with his brother John and Lina, immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1979, and enjoyed farming in Middlesex County. Many thanks to neighbours and friends for the visits and support while Jake was at home and at St. Joseph's Hospice. Also thanks to the family Dr. Chapeskie, psws’ from Paramed and nursing staff from St. Elizabeth for their care. The family is very grateful to the staff and services at St. Joseph's Hospice, allowing Jake's last moments to be memorable and peaceful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice. <br><br>Visitors to be received at Memorial Funeral Home, 1559 Fanshawe Park Road, East of Highbury 519-452-3770 from 6 to 9 pm Sunday. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michaels Parish at 511 Cheapside Street, London on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11 am with the reception to follow at Church. Interment Robin's Hill Cemetery. <br><br></div>
