Brooks, Norman William. With sadness we announce the passing of Norm Brooks peacefully on Saturday November 5th, 2016 in his 93rd year. Loving father of Don (and Carol), Doug, Marg (and Wayne) and Jan. Predeceased by his beloved wife Amelia (nee Doman 1916-2007) and his parents William and Anna (nee Reith), sisters Mabel, Olive and Violet, niece Margaret and brothers Raymond and Morris. Adoring grandfather of Shawn (1968-1986), Carey, Nathan, Jenna, Devon, Jeremy, Jasmine and Jessica. Fondly remembered by great grandchildren Tyler, Sam, Bryce, Ben (at birth), Mateo, Destiny, Serenity, Blessed, Tyson, Keegan, Nolan, Avery and Peyton. Also important to Dad was the Sinclair Family, the Parkinson family, McLaughlin family and the Reith family, together with the many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and extended families. Dad's persona touched many lives. Born on the farm at Whalen Corners near Lucan, his education at Beal was interrupted in Grade Ten when an offer to work in a war plant included his High School Diploma. At 14 he was in the workforce and by 16 was enrolled in the Canadian Air Force. After WWII, his association with (Ron) Richardson Real Estate sparked his passion for building homes and subdivisions, including the Kilworth development just west of London. Norm was a founding Member of the London Home Builders' Association, served on Council in Lobo Township and represented the Canadian Wood Development Council. The family would like to thank Amica of London and the palliative care unit at Parkwood Veteran Institute for the very special care they provided to Dad. The family welcomes all for visitation at Memorial Funeral Home (1559 Fanshawe Park Rd E, London) on Tuesday November 8, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The Memorial Service will be officiated by Rev. Bob Norris on Wednesday November 9 at 2 pm at Stoney Creek Baptist Church (2225 Highbury Ave N, London). Norm and Amelia believed in Jesus Christ and were committed and unwavering in their faith. In lieu of flowers, please consider Teen Challenge Farm (9340 Sharon Dr, London) and Stoney Creek Baptist.
